When Black and Brown folks show up to support yet another family who has lost a child to the snares of policing, we are told to behave. When mothers want answers as to why our children are never safe, we are told to behave. When we show up in a “public” space to pray, to remember their names, to ask questions and to speak our truth, we are told to behave. Our mere presence, our audacity to exist, to show up, to vibrate, to see, to hear, to believe, to feel, to hold each other up and push back is too much—disruptive in fact. Well, shit on that! Black and Brown lives do matter! We are not disposable and we will not “behave”! We see you, we know your names, we saw what you did and we are holding you accountable….
